"As Toronto has become a city of immigrants, especially in the past fifty years, its mix and flavour has made the city into a very welcome place to call home. The Irish, of course, have made an enormous contribution in the making of this new Toronto. We should feel very proud of our contribution. The O'Connor House will act as an anchor and symbol of our heritage and the lively spirit of the Irish."

Tony O'Donohue. - Toronto, Ontario. City Councillor - 1967 to 1994.
